Fans of Euphoria have been eagerly awaiting the show’s return for over two years, and the wait isn’t over just yet. HBO addressed recent rumors that the hit teen drama is getting an ax and announced that the Season 3 shot has been delayed because the scripts aren’t done yet.

Despite the chatter about Euphoria’s potential cancelation, HBO made it clear they’re all in for Season 3. They shared a statement with several major outlets, saying they “remain committed to making an exceptional third season” alongside its creator Sam Levinson.

The start of production has been pushed back to give Levinson more time to work on the scripts. While waiting for the Euphoria train to roll again, the show’s star-studded cast has been given permission to pursue other opportunities in the interim.

Many of the show’s stars established themselves as successful actors outside of Euphoria since this show first premiered in 2019. Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer all starred in several high-profile projects, while their supporting star Colman Domingo scored an Oscar nomination for Rustin earlier this year.

Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, Nika King, and Storm Reid also starred in the first two seasons of Euphoria. Angus Cloud tragically passed away between Season 2 and 3, while Barbie Ferreira announced her departure in 2022.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards are Hollywood’s biggest celebration of performers who bring our favorite movies and series to life, and they returned to LA on Saturday night. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and the FX series The Bear dominated the ceremony with three wins each.

Oppenheimer’s cast included some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, so it wasn’t a shocker to see it win the trophy for the outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. Its stars Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. continued their winning sweep ahead of the Oscars, winning SAG Awards in their respective categories.

It was also a big night for the FX dramedy The Bear, the winner of the coveted award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. Its stars Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri repeated their Emmy and Golden Globes success, winning accolades for the best actor and actress in a comedy series.

The drama field brought several surprises our way, with the final season of Succession only walking away with the trophy for the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. Despite sweeping all other major ceremonies, its stars Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook lost individual awards to Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) and Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown).

The 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards were held on February 24 at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, with Netflix live-streaming the show.

NBC has been plotting a potential Suits spin-off ever since its legal drama found a new audience on streaming services, and they’re finally setting things in motion. Suits L.A. is officially happening, and Arrow star Stephen Amell will lead its pilot episode.

Suits L.A. will take us to the cutthroat legal world of Los Angeles and one of its major players – a former federal prosecutor from New York, Ted Black. He left his old life behind 15 years ago to join forces with his old buddy Stuart Lane and start their own firm, specializing in criminal and entertainment law.

Described as “a charismatic force of nature who puts his own needs above others”, Ted finds himself at the crisis point at the start of this spin-off series. He must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career while dealing with the events that forced him to leave behind everything and everyone he loved many years ago.

Suits L.A. will start filming in Vancouver, Canada in late March, with Victoria Mahoney directing the pilot episode. She’ll also be credited as an executive producer alongside Suits creator Aaron Korsh and the original EPs David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein.

The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians was quite a spectacle, and Disney+ is bringing it back for another ride! Our favorite demigod will return after the streaming giant renewed the adaptation of Rick Riordan’s best-selling book series for another season.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows the adventures of a 12-year-old modern demigod, coming to terms with his newfound powers. After the almighty Zeus accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt, Percy must join forces with his BFFs Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood to try and restore order to Olympus.

Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri lead this fantasy series, which premiered on Disney+ last December to positive reviews. It became a huge hit with Disney+ and Hulu viewers, with the premiere episode attracting 26.2 million viewers in its first three weeks of streaming.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, confirmed the show’s renewal and praised it for captivating the imaginations of viewers of all ages everywhere.

“We’re thrilled to embark on an exciting new quest and a season two with Rick Riordan, our fantastic partners at 20th Television, and the exceptional ensemble of cast and creative talent that bring this story to life,” said Davis in a statement.

Abbott Elementary is one of the most hilarious shows returning to our TV screens this winter, and we finally know what to expect once the school reopens. ABC gave us a taste of things to come with an amazing Season 3 trailer ahead of its premiere next week.

The new trailer reunited us with our favorite Abbott teachers and the school’s quirky principal Ava. After attending a course at Harvard over the summer, she finally decided to change her ways, but her decision to take her job seriously only made things at Abbott even messier.

The show’s ensemble cast includes Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, William Stanford Davis, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, and they’ll all be back in Season 3.

Several new cast members were added to the ensemble earlier this week, including Josh Segarra (The Other Two), Kimia Behpoornia (Hacks), and Benjamin Norris (Never Have I Ever). Their characters Manny, Emily, and Simon have been described as a trio of good-natured Philadelphia school district representatives who aim to bring fresh perspectives to their roles as school ambassadors.

Season 3 of Abbott Elementary will consist of 14 episodes, and it’s set to premiere on ABC on February 7.

Succession and The Bear entered this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards as the top contenders and managed to exceed our expectations. They were crowned as top winners on Monday night and walked away with six trophies each, followed by Netflix’s Beef with five.

Succession knocked us off our feet with its finals season, and Emmy voters were certainly paying attention. HBO’s hit satire was nominated for 14 awards and eventually won six, including outstanding drama series, best writing and directing for “Connor’s Wedding”, and acting prizes for its fantastic trio Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen.

Emmy voters also welcomed the first season of The Bear with open arms and honored it with six accolades. In addition to being named the outstanding comedy series, FX’s dramedy won three acting awards, collected by Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Ayo Edebiri. Its creator Christopher Storer won two more Emmys for writing and directing this show.

As for Netflix’s Beef, this series was named the outstanding limited or anthology series and won four more awards in the limited series field – acting awards for its leads Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, plus writing and directing trophies for its creator Lee Sung Jin.

The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards were pushed to January 15 in the face of dual strikes in Hollywood last year, and Anthony Anderson was in charge of hosting Fox’s live show.

Slow Horses created more buzz than most of the shows to premiere on Apple TV+ in the past two years, and it’s coming back for another ride. Gary Oldman and the gang will return for the fifth season of the acclaimed spy series after the streamer confirmed its renewal.

Described by Apple TV+ as a “darkly funny espionage drama [that] follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes”, Slow Horses draws inspiration from Mick Herron’s Slough House novels.

The fifth season will be based on his book Spook Street, and it will see Slow Horses get extremely suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho finds a glamorous new girlfriend, while a series of increasingly bizarre events is occurring across the city.

Gary Oldman leads Slow Horses in the role of their irascible leader Jackson Lamb, while the supporting cast includes the likes of Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan, and Jonathan Pryce.

The Season 5 renewal of Slow Horses comes shortly after Season 3 concluded, and only 18 months since this show initially premiered on Apple TV+. Its fourth season is expected to return later this year, continuing the show’s rapid progression.

After six seasons of hilarious vampire antics and supernatural mishaps, What We Do in the Shadows is finally reaching its curtain call. The acclaimed mockumentary comedy horror series will end its run at FX with its upcoming sixth season.

Like Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s film that it’s based on, What We Do in the Shadow follows a group of centuries-old vampires who are hilariously trying to navigate the complexities of life in the modern world.

The main difference is that the spin-off series shifted the setting to Staten Island, New York, and centered on vampire roommates Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak), Leslie “Laszlo” Cravensworth (Matt Berry), Nadja of Antipaxos (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch).

FX didn’t give a reason for the show’s cancelation, but its ratings have significantly slipped during the latest season. Season 5 premiere was down 35% in total viewers on FX and struggled to maintain the audience, but the show’ most likely attracted more viewers on Hulu.

What We Do in the Shadows impressed fans and critics alike after premiering on FX in 2019. The witty writing and stellar ensemble cast helped it become a cult classic and attract 21 Emmy nominations, including two for the outstanding comedy series.

The Golden Globe will kick off the most exciting part of the award season this January, and the list of nominees is one for the books! Barbie topped the list of film nominations, while Succession made history in the TV field with the record-breaking nine nods.

Greta Gerwig broke countless records with Barbie, and she’s finally getting credit where credit is due. This critically acclaimed flick received nine nominations at the Golden Globe, starting with the best comedy or musical, along with Air, American Fiction, The Holdovers, May December, and Poor Things.

The race for the best drama film will be equally competitive. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is leading the way with eight nominations, but the list of contenders for the ceremony’s main award also includes Anatomy of a Fall, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest.

Succession knocked it out of the park in the television category and set a new record for the most-nominated show in a single year with nine nods. It’s the front-runner for the best drama series award, in addition to scoring eight more nominations thanks to its amazing ensemble, led by Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Snook.

The Golden Globe Awards will return to The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on January 7, 2024, and the ceremony will air live on CBS.
