Sunday night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards were one star-studded affair, and they brought many amazing surprises our way. Conclave won the SAG Award for the best acting ensemble in a motion picture, while Shōgun and Only Murders in the Building came out victorious in the television categories.
Anora, A Complete Unknown, Emilia Pérez, and Wicked were in the running for the coveted prize for the best acting ensemble in a motion picture, but Papal mystery thriller Conclave managed to defeat them all. Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Demi Moore (The Substance), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) collected individual acting awards on the film side.
After sweeping several award shows in the past few months, Shōgun continued its domination at the SAG Awards. The acclaimed historical drama topped the list of winners with a total of four awards, including outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series, plus individual accolades for its leading duo Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai.
The cast of Only Murders in the Building celebrated their first win for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, after losing this award on three separate occasions. Its star Martin Short also won the trophy for outstanding performance by a male actor in a comedy series.
The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on February 23, with Kristen Bell hosting the show.
