This marks the biggest domestic opening for a film, surpassing Captain America: Brave New World with $88 million. It also set a new record for the highest-grossing domestic opening for a movie based on a video game, previously held by The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Based on Mojang Studios’ hit video game that sold over 300 million copies worldwide, A Minecraft Movie takes us to a bizarre, cubic world that thrives on imagination. ]]>Lady Gaga has been dropping hints about LG7 for quite some time, and she set the stage for the album announcement with a series of billboards and a countdown clock on her official website. After dropping countless tiny Easter eggs, she made things official on Monday and confirmed her seventh studio album will be titled Mayhem.
“The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved. [The creative process of making this album reassembles] a shattered mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way,” she wrote in a statement.
Mayhem will hit the shelves on March 7, and it will feature a total of 14 tracks. She set the tone for this record with the lead single “Disease” and the Bruno Mars collaboration “Die with a Smile”, which was initially released as a standalone single and went on to spend four weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It’s the perfect role’… I haven’t received that call, so I don’t want to put any fake news out there, but if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I’m there,” said Momoa in a quote shared on Instagram.
Momoa previously played another DC hero Aquaman in Justice League, Aquaman, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. We’ve recently seen him star in Dune, Fast X, and Slumberland, and he’ll soon appear in A Minecraft Movie.

]]>After spending the past three seasons on an amazing journey of self-discovery, Benedict will finally get the chance to look for true love in Season 4. His refusal to settle down and put down roots will go out of the window once he meets the captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.
Season 4 will be based on Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton novel An Offer From a Gentleman, and showrunner Jess Brownell decided to wait before telling this story for a reason. She explained her choice to Tudum by saying, “[Benedict] is someone who has big appetites, and we wanted to see him living a big life before he goes into settle-down mode.”
Luke Thompson will return as Benedict Bridgerton in Season 4, and he found a perfect partner in crime in Yerin Ha, the star of Halo who’ll soon appear in Dune: Prophecy. Her character Sophie Beckett is the daughter of a wealthy earl, who spent her life living in poverty after he refused to acknowledge her as his legitimate child.

]]>Blue Moon hails from screenwriter Robert Kaplow, whose novel Me and Orson Welles previously inspired Linklater’s 2008 film of the same name. It will chronicle the complicated relationship between Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, the iconic songwriting duo who wrote a number of Broadway musicals by each other side.
Their working relationship eventually came crashing down, and Blue Moon will take us to the opening of the Broadway classic Oklahoma!, the first musical Rogers wrote without Hart after finding a new partner in crime in Oscar Hammerstein II.
This project will reunite Linklater with Ethan Hawke, the star of his film Boyhood and the Before trilogy. Blue Moon has been a long-time passion project for this amazing duo, and they’re finally making it happen thanks to Sony Pictures Classics.
In addition to Hawke, Blue Moon will star several more acclaimed stars, including Margaret Qualley (Drive-Away Dolls), Bobby Cannavale (The Watcher), and Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers). The rest of the cast will be announced before production kicks off in Dublin, Ireland this summer.

During its debut week on the Billboard 200 chart, GNX earned an impressive 319,000 equivalent album units, easily beating the competition and hitting No. 1.
As for the Billboard Hot 100, all 12 songs from GNX made it to this chart, with “Squabble Up” becoming his latest No. 1 single. It’s his third song to soar to the top this year after “Like That” ft. Future and Metro Boomin and “Not Like Us”, making Lamar the only artist with three No. 1 singles in 2024.
Along with “Squabble Up”, “TV Off” ft. Lefty Gunplay, “Luther” ft. SZA, “Wacced Out Murals”, and “Hey Now” ft. Dody6 also made it to the top five on the Hot 100 this week. This makes Lamar only the fourth artist after Taylor Swift, Drake, and The Beatles to rank at Nos. 1-5 in a single week.

Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish), and Chris O’Dowd (The Big Door Prize) also agreed to hop on board.
Season 7 will also star newcomers Patsy Ferran (Life After Life), Lewis Gribben (Somewhere Boy), Osy Ikhile (Citadel), Siena Kelly (Adult Material), Rosy McEwen (The Alienist), Harriet Walter (Succession), and Paul G. Raymond (Horrible Histories), in addition to featuring several actors returning to the Black Mirror universe.
Billy Magnussen, Jimmi Simpson, Cristin Milioti, and Milanka Brooks will be back for another ride on USS Callister after Netflix announced the sequel of this Emmy-winning episode. They dropped a short teaser back in March, which featured a tagline “USS Callister will return… Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning.”

]]>The post Richard Linklater’s “Blue Moon” Casts Ethan Hawke, Margaret Qualley, & More appeared first on Gingerize.
