Lady Gaga really kept us waiting for her seventh studio album, but the wait will soon be over! She announced the release of her new album Mayhem, set to hit the shelves in March, and shared the full tracklist, album cover, and a teaser trailer, setting the tone for her next record.
Lady Gaga has been dropping hints about LG7 for quite some time, and she set the stage for the album announcement with a series of billboards and a countdown clock on her official website. After dropping countless tiny Easter eggs, she made things official on Monday and confirmed her seventh studio album will be titled Mayhem.
“The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved. [The creative process of making this album reassembles] a shattered mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way,” she wrote in a statement.
Mayhem will hit the shelves on March 7, and it will feature a total of 14 tracks. She set the tone for this record with the lead single “Disease” and the Bruno Mars collaboration “Die with a Smile”, which was initially released as a standalone single and went on to spend four weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
