Jason Momoa to Play Lobo in “Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow”

Jason Momoa has been very open about his interest in playing the DC antihero Lobo, and his dream is finally coming true. He announced his casting as Lobo in Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow, the second film in James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe.

Momoa announced his casting by sharing a quote from a previous interview where he discussed potentially playing Lobo and captioned it by writing, “They called.”

“I collect comics, and I don’t do so much anymore, but he was always my favorite, and I always wanted to play Lobo, because I’m like, ‘Hello? It’s the perfect role’… I haven’t received that call, so I don’t want to put any fake news out there, but if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I’m there,” said Momoa in a quote shared on Instagram.

Momoa previously played another DC hero Aquaman in Justice League, Aquaman, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. We’ve recently seen him star in Dune, Fast X, and Slumberland, and he’ll soon appear in A Minecraft Movie.

Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow will be the second film in the newly-rebooted DC Universe, following James Gunn’s Superman. Milly Alcock will lead this project as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El, and she’ll be joined by Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hill and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Mary Knolle.
