Kendrick Lamar Leads Billboard Charts With Surprise Album “GNX”

We can count on Kendrick Lamar to cause quite a stir with each new album he shares with the world, and he took things to a whole new level with GNX. This surprise album became his fifth to top the Billboard 200 and took the top five spots on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, starting with “Squabble Up” at No. 1.

All hell broke loose when Lamar dropped GNX on November 22, and it didn’t take long to global Spotify chart before taking over the chars around the world. During its debut week on the Billboard 200 chart, GNX earned an impressive 319,000 equivalent album units, easily beating the competition and hitting No. 1.

As for the Billboard Hot 100, all 12 songs from GNX made it to this chart, with “Squabble Up” becoming his latest No. 1 single. It’s his third song to soar to the top this year after “Like That” ft. Future and Metro Boomin and “Not Like Us”, making Lamar the only artist with three No. 1 singles in 2024.

Along with “Squabble Up”, “TV Off” ft. Lefty Gunplay, “Luther” ft. SZA, “Wacced Out Murals”, and “Hey Now” ft. Dody6 also made it to the top five on the Hot 100 this week. This makes Lamar only the fourth artist after Taylor Swift, Drake, and The Beatles to rank at Nos. 1-5 in a single week.
