“Kraven the Hunter” Trailer Promises One Epic, Bloody Adventure

Kraven the Hunter is one of Sony’s most highly-anticipated new films this year, and it seems like it’s worth the hype! The first trailer for this gritty superhero flick is here, and it sees Aaron Taylor-Johnson take on the role of one of Marvel’s most formidable villains.

Kraven the Hunter centers on Sergei Kravinoff, one of Marvel’s most formidable villains before he crossed paths with Spider-Man and became one of his biggest enemies. Taylor-Johnson described his character as “a protector of the natural world” and said he was drawn to this role because Kraven isn’t an alien or a wizard, but simply a human with conviction.

Taylor-Johnson’s casting in this role may seem a little confusing considering that he played Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but there’s a catch. This film is not set in the MCU, but in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, and it’s possible for them to overlap in the future as Marvel continues to explore the concept of the multiverse.

Kraven the Hunter will hit the theaters on October 6, after being filmed on location across the UK and Iceland. Its supporting cast includes Ariana DeBose, Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbott, and Alessandro Nivola.
