Taylor Swift Ends 2023 at No. 1 With “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”

2023 has been the year of Taylor Swift, and she’s ending it in the best way possible! After breaking records left and right all year long, the Grammy-winning singer topped the final Billboard 200 chart of 2023 with her album 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

1989 (Taylor’s Version) debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart following its release and returned to No. 1 two more times, but its reign is far from over. This album topped the Billboard 200 with 136,000 equivalent album units, becoming the final album of 2023 to do so.

This marks the fourth non-consecutive week 1989 (Taylor’s Version) spent at No. 1, and it’s in pretty good company. Swift’s former No. 1 albums Midnights and Lover also made it to the top ten this week, along with several holiday records, including Michael Bublé’s Christmas at No. 4, Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song at No. 8 and Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas at No. 10.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) helped Swift clock in her 67th week atop the Billboard 200 across 13 chart-topping albums, tying the record previously held by Elvis Presley for most weeks spent at No. 1 among solo artists. The Beatles still hold the all-time record, with 132 weeks atop the US Billboard 200 chart.
