It’s been a while since we’ve seen Samuel L. Jackson play Nick Fury, but he’s ready for a comeback! The Oscar-nominated actor will return as his iconic MCU character in the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion, and the first trailer for this show is finally here!
Secret Invasion will see Nick Fury deal with the ongoing threat of shapeshifting Skrulls infiltrating planet Earth. After learning they’ve been living among us for years, taking positions of power all around the world, Fury decides to stop them and save humanity with the help of his allies.
In addition to Fury, Secret Invasion will feature several characters we were introduced to in previous MCU films, including Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), and James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle).
The cast will also feature Charlayne Woodard, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, and Dermot Mulroney.
Secret Invasion has been described as a “crossover event series”, and it will most likely lead to Nick Fury appearing in more MCU movies, starting with The Marvels later this year. This mini-series will feature a total of six episodes, and it’s set to premiere on Disney+ on June 21, as the first series of the MCU’s Phase Five.
