These Four Celebrities Adopted Kids

With so many children who need homes, it is a great deed to adopt a child. It can be difficult though, with a world of what feels like eternal waiting and never-ending paperwork before you get to take home your child.

Even celebrities have to go through the same process. Let’s take a look at four celebrity parents who have adopted.

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie is known for adopting children. Her first was Maddox from Cambodia when she was married to Billy Bob Thornton. She later adopted Zahara, and Brad Pitt adopted them as well when they were together but not married.

Jolie adopted Pax from Vietnam, but as the country does not allow unmarried couples to adopt, she had to do it on her own, but when they got married in 2014, all three kids were adopted by both parents, making the divorce proceedings pretty complicated.

Madonna

In addition to Madonna’s two birth children, she also adopted two kids from Malawi. The two girls are twins, and she made the announcement on Instagram.

“I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family,” she wrote.

Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron adopted two kids, a boy named Jackson in 2012 and a girl named August in 2015.

Jackson came out in 2019 as a transgendered girl, and Theron has been a supportive mother through the process. She wanted to adopt because she knew how overcrowded orphanages were in her home country, South Africa.

Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman

Cruise and Kidman were the hottest power couple of the 90s, spanning the whole decade and starring in multiple films together before they split in 2001. They adopted two kids in that time, Isabella Jane and Connor Anthony.

Both kids stayed with Cruise after the divorce, and they did not maintain a relationship with their mom. “They live with Tom, which was their choice. I’d love [for] them to live with us, but what can you do?” Kidman said.
