“The Office” Spin-Off is Officially Happening & Here’s What We Know

It’s been a decade since The Office ended its run, and its popularity isn’t fading away. Peacock has been plotting a potential spin-off set in this universe for quite some time, and they officially gave it a green light. Here’s everything you should know about this series before it kicks off production this summer.

Plot Details

This spin-off series will reunite us with the documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch. They’ll head to Midwestern to explore a new subject—a dying historic newspaper and the publisher who’s trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.

Ensemble Cast

Just like the original The Office, the new series will feature an ensemble cast. Domhnall Gleeson, who starred in About Time, Ex Machina, and the Star Wars franchise, and Sabrina Impacciatore, the Emmy-nominated star of The White Lotus, are the first actors to join the cast. The rest of the ensemble will probably be announced before the series kicks off production in July.

Creative Team

The Office creator Greg Daniels is also the mastermind behind the new spin-off, which he co-created with Michael Koman (Nathan for You). They’re both coming on board as its executive producers with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas.
