]]>Eternal Sunshine hit the shelves on March 8 and managed to earn 227,000 equivalent album units during its debut week, including 77,000 in album sales. This makes it Grande’s sixth album to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with the largest week for any album in 2024 thus far.
As for the Hot 100 chart, Grande is also leading the way with her latest single “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”. This song accompanied the release of Eternal Sunshine and managed to earn 32.6 million streams, 4.6 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 9,000 in sales during its debut week.
“We Can’t Be Friends” is a true record-breaker for Grande because it marks her seventh No. 1 Hot 100 debut, helping her break Taylor Swift’s record for most chart-topping debuts among female artists.
It also helped her become the only artist in history to have multiple Hot 100 chart-topping debuts from two different albums, since she also hit No. 1 with the lead single “Yes, And?” back in January.

]]>“Kill Bill” surged to No. 1 with 86.5 million radio airplay audience impressions, 28.3 million streams, and 5,000 downloads following the release of a new remix featuring Doja Cat. Even though the new version certainly led to its recent surge, Doja Cat wasn’t credited on the Billboard Hot 100 because the majority of the song’s streams and radio plays hail from the original version.
“Kill Bill” was released as one of the songs from SZA’s latest studio album SOS, and it was only promoted to a single after its strong streaming numbers put it on the map. SZA admitted she was taken aback by its success, given how easy it was to record this song.
“I knew it would be something that pissed me off. It’s always a song that I don’t give a f–k about that’s just super easy, not the s—t that I put so much heart and energy into. ‘Kill Bill’ was super easy — one take, one night,” she previously told Billboard.
