]]>Cowboy Carter is Beyoncé’s eighth solo studio album to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and it soared to the top with 407,000 equivalent album units. It earned the largest week for an album in 2024 and the biggest streaming week of Beyoncé’s career, with 300.41 million official streams, equaling 232,000 SEA units.
Pure album sales amounted to 168,000 units, helping Cowboy Carter soar to the top of the Billboard’s Album Sales chart. It also topped Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, making history as the first album by a female Black artist to do so.
Cowboy Carter hit the shelves on March 29, and its release was preceded by singles “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages”. Beyoncé envisioned it as the second installment of a trilogy that also features Renaissance, which sees her exploring the Black roots of country music. Cowboy Carter features several A-list collaborations, with the likes of Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, and Post Malone.

]]>Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé will celebrate the impact of Beyoncé’s latest world tour, which “created a sanctuary for freedom, and shared joy, for more than 2.7 million fans”, according to its official logline.
The film will also chronicle Beyoncé’s quest to create her legacy and master her craft during this tour, which took her all around Europe and North America before ending its run in Kansas City, Missouri on October 1. In addition to becoming a global phenomenon, the Renaissance World Tour shattered records along the way, and it became the highest-grossing tour by a female artist in history.
According to Variety, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé will include both concert and behind-the-scenes footage from the singer’s latest tour, along with the music videos from the visual album Renaissance.
This film will be distributed by AMC Theaters, starting on December 1, and Beyoncé is expected to receive over 50% of the box office gross after striking an exclusive deal with AMC through her productions company Parkwood Entertainment.

]]>The list of contenders for the night’s shiniest trophy also included Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, Her Loss by Drake and 21 Savage, DJ Khaled’s God Did, Chris Brown’s Breezy, and GloRilla’s Anyways, Life’s Great. SZA and Beyoncé eventually emerged as front-runners and tied for album of the year in one of the ceremony’s most dramatic moments.
In addition to this shared triumph, both singers claimed two more trophies. SZA’s remarkable talent earned her awards for best female R&B/pop artist and the video of the year award with “Kill Bill”, while Beyoncé secured the BET Her Award and the Viewer’s Choice Award for her chart-topping single “Break My Soul”.
The race for the best movie didn’t bring us so much drama, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever emerged as the winner in this category, beating the likes of Nope and The Woman King. Its star Angela Bassett and the Snowfall actor Damson Idris picked up the trophies for best actress and actor.

]]>Beyoncé topped the list of this year’s Grammy nominations with a total of nine nods, and managed to win in four categories: best dance/electronic recording (“Break My Soul”), best dance/electronic album (Renaissance), best traditional R&B performance (“Plastic Off the Sofa”) and best R&B song (“Cuff It”).
Beyoncé once again missed out on the album of the year award, this time to Harry Styles, who came out victorious thanks to Harry’s House. Lizzo defeated them both in the record of the year category, and collected this award with “About Damn Time”.
Bonnie Raitt delivered one of the night’s biggest shockers when she collected the song of the year award with “Just Like That”, beating the likes of Lizzo, Adele, and Taylor Swift. It was also quite surprising to see the jazz singer Samara Joy win the best new artist award.
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards were held on February 5, with Trevor Noah returning as a host for the third year in a row.

]]>The post 2023 Grammy Awards: Beyoncé Becomes Most-Awarded Artist in History, Harry Styles & Lizzo Win Top Prizes appeared first on Gingerize.
