“Superman & Lois” to Continue Flying High on the CW Following Season 4 Renewal

The CW canceled many of its most popular shows after new owners took over – but Superman and Lois isn’t one of them. The superhero drama will keep flying high after being renewed for its fourth season, set to feature a total of 10 episodes.

The CW Network’s president of entertainment Brad Schwartz announced they’re renewing this show along with All American: Homecoming. He said they’re two of their strongest performers across our linear and digital platforms with some of the most passionate fanbases in all of television.

Renewing Superman and Lois would be a no-brainer on any other network, but its future on the CW was plagued with uncertainty despite strong ratings. The network is currently trying to cut costs wherever possible, and that will reflect on the show’s fourth season, which will feature 10 episodes instead of 13.

The number of series-regular cast members will most likely be cut in Season 4, but the leads won’t be affected by these changes. It’s also most likely that the show will return to its core premise as a family drama in an attempt to lower the special effects budget.

This fan-favorite series stars Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, and it sees them trying to leave all the superhero drama behind and try to start a peaceful new life in Smallville with their sons.
