The music video for Sabrina Carpenter’s new single “Taste” is a gruesome affair—and she’s not the only one responsible. Carpenter’s new visual also stars Jenna Ortega, and it sees the two leading ladies testing some pretty creative murder methods while trying to kill each other.
Directed by Dave Meyers, the music video for “Taste” is gory and playful at the same time, just like Death Becomes Her – the 90s classic that inspired it. Carpenter and Ortega play two women trying to win the affection of the same guy, and they’ll stop at nothing on their quest to win his love.
No weapon is off-limits for these two indestructible women, who suffer many deadly injuries inspired by such horror classics as Psycho, Addams Family Values, Ginger Snaps, and Kill Bill. At the end of the day, their former lover is the only one who winds up dead, and they decide to bury their rivalry along with him.
“Taste” was released along with the rest of Carpenter’s new album Short n’ Sweet, which hit the shelves this Friday. She promoted its release with two hit singles – “Espresso” and “Please Please Please”, which both topped the charts all around the world, with the latter becoming her first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
