Nicholas Galitzine Boards “Masters of the Universe” as He-Man

Mattel has been plotting the live-action adaptation of Masters of the Universe for quite some time, and they’re finally making it happen! Mattel and Amazon MGM started rounding out the cast of this project, and Nicholas Galitzine is officially coming on board as He-Man.

Based on the popular Masters of the Universe franchise, this film will reintroduce He-Man and the rest of the gang to a new generation, and it will be directed by Travis Knight. Mattel and Amazon MGM are planning a major summer rollout, and they’ll release this project on June 5, 2026.

Julie Rapaport, head of film production and development at Amazon MGM Studios, confirmed Galitzine’s casting and said they’re thrilled to bring the beloved Masters of the Universe to life with this immensely talented actor.

“Joining forces with director Travis Knight, Mattel, and Escape Artists, this reintroduction of the character and his universe will be an epic film that will delight audiences from here to Eternia,” said Rapaport in a statement.

Galitzine previously starred in several hit Amazon Prime Video originals, including rom-coms The Idea of You and Red, White & Royal Blue. He confirmed his casting on Instagram and said he’s beyond proud to play this iconic character, known for his heart, humor, and heroism.
