Miley Cyrus’ new era of music is upon us, and it’s shaping up to be the most visually striking one yet. The singer’s next album Something Beautiful is hitting the shelves this May, and it will be accompanied by a visual film, described as “a unique visual experience fueled by fantasy.”
Something Beautiful will be released on May 30, and Cyrus announced it by sharing a mesmerizing cover art, captured by renowned fashion photographer Glen Luchford. She described the cover as a “striking nod to the album’s bold aesthetic and visual storytelling”, which sees her rocking an archival Thierry Mugler look from 1997.
Something Beautiful will be accompanied by a visual film, which will follow the same formula. Archival fashion will play an important role in this project, and it will feature vintage looks by the likes of Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Alexander McQueen.
Something Beautiful marks the follow-up to Cyrus’ acclaimed album Endless Summer Vacation, which debuted at No. 3 in the US and topped the charts around the world. It produced the singer’s most successful single to date, “Flowers”, which spent eight non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to win Grammy Awards for record of the year and best pop solo performance.
