Selena Gomez and Lucy Hale Kinda Look Alike. But Is There More To Their Similarities Than Just Plain Genetic Coincidence?

This was Lucy Hale’s tweet after being mistaken for Gomez yet again. This case of mistaken identity is not new to the actress as she has been told that she looked like Gomez many times growing up. And we have to agree, the two do look so much alike.
Hale and Gomez both started their careers early on in life. Gomez became part of the Barney and Friends cast at the age of 10 while Hale competed and became one of the winners of a reality singing competition American Juniors, the kids version of American Idol. Soon after, Gomez became a regular face in Disney Channel, while Gomez became part of Nickelodeon’s pool of actors. The two also branched out into the music industry.
So, are the two related? In her Wired Autocomplete Interview video, Hale said that “I am. We’re actually twins and we don’t like to talk about it a lot in public.”
Of course she was joking. She then added that, “When I was younger I used to get that I looked like her all the time.”
And so the answer is, no they are not related. And while they do know each other and have also worked together at some point (Wizards of Waverly Place), there’s no proof of the two even being close friends with each other.
