I Know What You Did Last Summer is one of the most beloved slashers that the ’90s are remembered by, and we’ll soon get a modern version. This legacy sequel announced its cast, which includes the likes of Camila Mendes, Madelyn Cline, and Jonah Hauer-King.
The original Last Summer saw Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prinze Jr. trying to escape a hook-wielding killer one year after hitting him with the car and covering up their crime. It was a huge box office hit back in the day, and it produced two sequels, in addition to inspiring a Prime Video series of the same name.
The new version of this story is in the safe hands, and it will be directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge), who co-wrote the script with Sam Lansky. Original stars are open to reprising their roles, but they’re still not officially attached to this project.
The new version of this story attracted an impressive roster of young talent, starting with Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline and Riverdale alum Camila Mendes, who previously led Robinson’s Do Revenge. Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid), Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), and Tyriq Withers (Tell Me Lies) are also joining them in key roles.
