“House of the Dragon” Season 2 Teaser Offers Glimpses of Dance of the Dragons

Everything that happened in the first season of House of the Dragon has been leading up to the Dance of the Dragons, and the main event is finally here! HBO teased House Targaryen’s bloody war of succession in the first teaser trailer for the show’s hotly-anticipated second season.

Season 2 kicks off after the events of King Viserys’ death, which left the Seven Kingdoms divided. Queen Alicent Hightower conspired to help her son Aegon II ascend to the Iron Throne, but Viserys’ first-born daughter Rhaenyra Targaryen isn’t planning to take this decision sitting down.

The bloodshed between two opposing clans of the Targaryen family will be the focal point of the upcoming second season, which will chronicle the start of the Dance of the Dragons, the war that eventually led to the fall of this great house and the death of their dragons.

Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy will lead the second season, and they’ll be joined by Matt Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Rhys Ifans. Several newcomers to the Game of Thrones franchise are set to join them, starting with Gayle Rankin, Simon Russell Beale, Freddie Fox, and Abubakar Salim.

Season 2 of House of the Dragon will feature a total of eight episodes, and HBO is yet to officially announce its release date.
