Robert Eggers’ horror movies are always worth the wait, and his highly-anticipated adaptation of Nosferatuis shaping up to be as terrifying as it gets. Get ready to sink your teeth into the first trailer for this gothic horror, which sees Bill Skarsgård haunting Lily-Rose Depp.
Nosferatu has been described as “a gothic tale of obsession”, which centers on the terrifying vampire infatuated with a young woman, who causes untold horror to get her attention. It’s based on the German silent film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, which draws inspiration from Bram Stoker’s horror classic Dracula.
Bill Skarsgård will lead the cast as Count Orlok aka Nosferatu, while Lily-Rose Depp will play Ellen Hutter, the woman he’s obsessed with. Nicholas Hoult will join them as Ellen’s husband Thomas Hutter, Count Orlok’s real estate agent who’s completely unaware that his new client is a violent, centuries-old vampire. The rest of the star-studded supporting cast includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe.
Nosferatu is one of the most highly-anticipated horror movies of 2024 because it hails from writer/director Robert Eggers, the mastermind behind The Witch and The Lighthouse. It’s scheduled to be released by Focus Features on December 25.
