Dog Days Are Not Over in the First Trailer for Amy Adams’ New Film

Amy Adams’ new horror comedy will tackle the ups and downs of motherhood—in the wildest way imaginable. Dog days are NOT over for the six-time Oscar nominee, who must face her canine instincts and come out stronger on the other side in the first trailer for her next film.

Adams will lead the long-awaited adaptation of Rachel Yoder’s hit novel, as a stay-at-home mom who paused her artistic pursuits to focus on raising her toddler. Her decision comes back to haunt her when she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a dog.

In addition to Adams, Nightb—-also stars Mary Holland, Jessica Harper, Zoë Chao, Ella Thomas, Stacey Swift, Archana Rajan, Adrienne Rose White, Darius De La Cruiz, and Roslyn Gentle. It hails from writer/director Marielle Heller, whose films Can You Ever Forgive Me? and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood spawned several Oscar-nominated performances.

The movie will be released theatrically by Searchlight Pictures on December 6, despite being conceived as a streaming-only Hulu original. It’s heading to the Toronto International Film Festival for its world premiere on September 7, while Adams will receive this year’s TIFF Tribute Performer Award.
