Jalen Hurts led the team to their second Super Bowl win, and his first as a quarterback, and walked away with a well-deserved Super Bowl MVP title.

It was also a night to remember for Kendrick Lamar, whose halftime show performance ruffled some feathers and delivered many memorable moments. His triumphant rendition of the viral hit “Not Like Us” was the highlight of the night, and the entire stadium joined in as he openly took shots at Drake.
A-Listers in the House
From Hollywood superstars to the president of the United States, everyone who’s anyone seemed to be at the Super Bowl. Taylor Swift was there to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Chiefs, and the video of a pro-Eagles crowd booing her immediately went viral and started a larger conversation about misogyny in the NFL community.

]]>The news of Payne’s passing made the headlines after he fell from a third-floor balcony on October 16 at a hotel in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires. His death was confirmed immediately by the emergency medical team, and fans later gathered in front of the hotel to build a memorial in his honor.
Tributes poured in from many of Payne’s peers and past collaborators, including the former members of One Direction – Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. They all shared individual statements, in addition to a joint press release, which read, “We will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever.”
Payne was a part of One Direction between 2010 and 2016, and they became a true global phenomenon and one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. After parting ways, Payne started working on his solo music and released his first album LP1 in 2019.

]]>Smith’s sons Toby Stephens and Chris Larkin released a joint statement to the British media announcing her passing, which read, “An intensely private person, she was with friends and family at the end. She leaves two sons and five loving grandchildren who are devastated by the loss of their extraordinary mother and grandmother.”
Smith has been acting since the 50s, and she’s the recipient of the Triple Crown of Acting for her work on screen and stage. She established herself as one of the most significant British theatre performers, while also building a successful film career, winning two Oscars for roles in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and California Suite.
Smith was introduced to a whole new generation of fans while playing Professor Minerva McGonagall from the Harry Potter films and later experienced somewhat of a career renaissance with the Emmy-winning role in Downton Abbey. Her notable credits also include such films as Hook, Sister Act, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, A Room with a View, and Gosford Park.

]]>The Canadian actor started working during the 60s and made a name for himself with roles in The Dirty Dozen and M*A*S*H. He went on to appear in 200 projects over the course of six decades, ranging from Don’t Look Now (1973), Animal House (1978), and Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) to Ordinary People (1980), The Italian Job (2003), and Pride & Prejudice (2005).
Sutherland’s career experienced quite a renaissance after he played President Snow in The Hunger Games franchise. He personally campaigned for this role by writing a letter to the director Gary Ross, and said he wanted to be a part of this project because he considered it “incredibly important”.
Sutherland is often hailed as one of the best actors in history to never get an Oscar nomination, but he did receive an Academy Honorary Award in 2017. He’s also a recipient of many other prestigious accolades, including one Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globes for his roles in TV films Citizen X and Path to War.

]]>The news of Perry’s death spread like wildfire after he was found unresponsive at his home in Los Angeles on October 28. The actor died from an apparent drowning in a hot tub, but the cause of death is yet to be determined by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Friends co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane released an official statement alongside the show’s executive producer Kevin Bright, bidding farewell to Perry.
“We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew’s passing. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives… He was always the funniest person in the room. More than that, he was the sweetest, with a giving and selfless heart,” reads the trio’s statement.
Perry may be best known for his role in Friends, but his talent extended far beyond this series. He also played the lead role in TV shows Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and The Odd Couple, scored two Emmy nods for guest-starring on The West Wing, and appeared in movies The Whole Nine Yards, 17 Again, and The Ron Clark Story.

Rihanna’s 13-minute performance included a total of 12 songs, ranging from “We Found Love” and “Rude Boy” to “Umbrella” and “Diamonds”, which closed the show. The singer previously discussed the show with Apple Music and said that choosing the setlist was the show’s biggest challenge.
“You only have 13 minutes, that’s the challenge, so you’re trying to cram 17 years of work into 13 minutes. It’s difficult – some songs we’ve had to lose because of that and that’s going to be OK. But I think we did a pretty good job at narrowing it down,” she explained.
Rihanna’s halftime show was a part of Super Bowl LVII, which took place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, and saw the Kansas City Chiefs win their second title in four years.

Akon Discovered Her
R&B artist Akon was impressed with Lady Gaga when he attended her alternative burlesque show which was next to Lady Starlight. Her vocals impressed Akon so much that he signed her to Kon Live, his label. This all happened in 2007 when she was still a free agent, but shortly after other offers from other labels popped up given how famous she had become. Even though she left Kon Live later on, Akon jokes around that he can retire early now due to her early success.
Britney Spears Was Supposed To Sing “Telephone”
“Telephone” is one of Lady Gaga’s most memorable and loved singles. She collaborated with Beyoncé, and even though the two sang “Telephone” together, it was originally not meant for her to sing. She actually wrote the song for Britney Spears. Her album Circus was meant to have the song, but Spears rejected it, and since Gaga didn’t want the song to be wasted, she released it with Beyoncé, and the rest is history.
