The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will come to an end after five amazing seasons, and we finally know what its last chapter has in store. Amazon just dropped the first trailer for the fifth and final season of the Emmy-winning comedy series, set to premiere next month.
As she finally finds herself closer than ever to the success she’s dreamed of, only to discover that closer than ever is still so far away, the aspiring stand-up comedienne Midge Maisel complains to her manager Susie, “It’s two steps forward, three steps back, and I’m tired of it.”
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is led by Rachel Brosnahan, and its ensemble cast includes Alex Borstein, Michael Zegen, Marin Hinkle, Tony Shalhoub, Kevin Pollak, Caroline Aaron, and Luke Kirby. The co-showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino said it was crucial to do justice to all of their characters when writing the final season.
“When it came down to five and out, we sat down and said, ‘OK, now what do we do to make sure that we stick the landing?’ We’re really paying attention to our story-breaking process to make sure that everybody is given their moment and given their due time and space,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
Season 5 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 14, and it will feature a total of nine episodes.
