Surprise From Superheroes
For children at the Children’s Hospital Colorado, they were in for a superhero surprise. Back in 2017, four members of the Aurora Police wore superhero costumes and greeted children as they rappelled down the side of the hospital building. This lifted to youngsters’ spirits and made for a memorable day.
Back-to-School Haircuts
In late August in San Jose, California for the sixth annual Kutz4Kids event, 15 barbers helped hundreds of kids who were returning to school get free haircuts.
Charitable Youngster
He was only eight years old when Charles “Chucky” Williams lost his dad to colon cancer. To honor his father’s memory, the Evansville, Indiana native gave out thousands of toys for a local non-profit and has provided many charitable acts.
Heroes After An Earthquake
In 2017, after a 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit Mexico City, Frida the rescue dog and Israel Arauz Salina (her trainer), went viral as the duo detected 52 bodies in the aftermath and saved lives. The nine-year-old lab and her trainer served in the Mexican navy and received their own statue.
Beached Whale Rescuers
In 2009, 58 volunteers raced to the beach to help save 17 long-finned pilot whales that were stranded in Australia at Hamelin Bay. Each whale can get up to 5,000 pounds, but that didn’t stop the animal lovers from guiding these gentle giants back out into the sea.
