2025 BAFTA Awards: “Conclave” Walks Away With Four Trophies

After entering the award season as a dark horse, Conclave is slowly turning into one of the front-runners. The cast and crew of the Papal thriller had a night to remember at the BAFTAs on Sunday night, where this film walked away with four trophies, including best film and outstanding British film.

Conclave topped the list of nominees at the BAFTAs with 12 nods, and it managed to take four awards home. Most notably, it collected the coveted best film prize, prevailing against Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, and Emilia Pérez.

It was also named the outstanding British film of the year, defeating the likes of Bird, Blitz, Gladiator II, Hard Truths, and Kneecap, in addition to winning awards for best adapted screenplay (Peter Straughan) and best editing (Nick Emerson).

The list of major winners also included the epic period drama The Brutalist with four awards. Its star  Adrien Brody won a BAFTA for his performance in this film, joining in the ranks of the acting winners Mikey Madison (Anora), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez).

The 2025 BAFTA Awards took place on February 16 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, with David Tennant returning as a host for the second time.
