The post 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards: “Succession” & “The Bear” Win Big With Six Awards appeared first on Gingerize.
]]>Succession knocked us off our feet with its finals season, and Emmy voters were certainly paying attention. HBO’s hit satire was nominated for 14 awards and eventually won six, including outstanding drama series, best writing and directing for “Connor’s Wedding”, and acting prizes for its fantastic trio Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen.
Emmy voters also welcomed the first season of The Bear with open arms and honored it with six accolades. In addition to being named the outstanding comedy series, FX’s dramedy won three acting awards, collected by Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Ayo Edebiri. Its creator Christopher Storer won two more Emmys for writing and directing this show.
As for Netflix’s Beef, this series was named the outstanding limited or anthology series and won four more awards in the limited series field – acting awards for its leads Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, plus writing and directing trophies for its creator Lee Sung Jin.
The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards were pushed to January 15 in the face of dual strikes in Hollywood last year, and Anthony Anderson was in charge of hosting Fox’s live show.

]]>The final season of Succession is towering over the competition with impressive 27 nominations, starting with 14 nods in the main field. The Last of Us isn’t too far behind and the Emmy voters rewarded it with 24 nods, while The White Lotus managed to score 13 nominations this time around.
These three series will give HBO a good winning chance in the best drama field, along with House of the Dragon. The list of contenders for this award also includes Disney+ series Andor, the final season of AMC’s Better Call Saul, Netflix’s royal drama The Crown, and Showtime’s gripping thriller Yellowjackets.
The race for the best comedy series will be equally competitive, where Ted Lasso is leading the way with 21 nods. It will have to beat Abbot Elementary, Barry, The Bear, Jury Duty, Wednesday, Only Murders in the Building, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to take the trophy home.
Netflix’s Beef leads the pack when it comes to nominations for the outstanding limited or anthology series, where the competition also includes Daisy Jones & The Six, Fleishman Is in Trouble, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards are scheduled to take place on September 18, but a possible postponement is looming on the horizon due to the ongoing WGA strike.
