Ebon Moss-Bachrach is fresh off winning an Emmy and Golden Globe for playing Richie Jerimovich on The Bear. His “overnight success” was decades in the making, and we’ve seen him play small roles in such films as Mona Lisa Smile, Higher Ground, and No Hard Feelings.

]]>The Last of Us was created for HBO by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, drawing inspiration from Naughty Dog’s hit video game. It follows a hardened survivor Joel (Pedro Pascal) and a teenage girl Ellie (Bella Ramsey), as they embark on a harrowing journey across a post-apocalyptic America.
In addition to Pascal and Ramsey in the lead roles, this series also stars Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Melanie Lynskey, and Storm Reid. It premiered on HBO on January 15 and scored the second-biggest HBO premiere since 2010, with 4.7 million viewers tuning in to watch it on the first day.
Francesca Orsi, EVP of HBO Programming, confirmed the show’s renewal in an official statement and praised its creative team for bringing it to life.
“Craig and Neil, alongside EP Carolyn Strauss, and the rest of our phenomenal cast and crew, have defined a genre with their masterful debut season of The Last of Us. After pulling off this unforgettable first season, I can’t wait to watch this team outshine themselves again with Season 2,” said Orsi.
