3 Things You Should Know About Peacock’s Long-Awaited “Community: The Movie”

Community fans spent over a decade hoping that “six seasons and the movie” will become more than a running joke and their prayers have finally been answered. Peacock gave Community: The Movie the green light and here are three things that we know about this long-awaited project.

Making It Happen

The running joke about “six seasons and the movie” has been around since the early seasons of Community. The final season of the series ended with the hashtag #andamovie appearing on screen, and the creator of the original show Dan Harmon discussed the possibility of making it on several occasions in recent years.

Key Players

Harmon is coming on board as a writer and executive producer of Community: The Movie, along with Andrew Guest. The movie will premiere on Peacock, and they’re developing it in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television and Universal Television. The streamer also acquired the full series library on a non-exclusive basis.

Original Cast?

Community: The Movie will feature many familiar faces, including original cast members Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong. Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, and Yvette Nicole Brown most likely won’t be featured in the movie since they left Community in earlier seasons.
